A letter in your own words always lands better. Here is the template we will pre-fill — feel free to edit it freely once your email opens.

Dear [MP name],

I am a constituent in [your area] writing to ask you to act with urgency on Iran.

Since 30 December 2025, the Islamic Republic has carried out a state massacre of its own people on a scale not seen for decades. Verified deaths have already reached 7,000 (HRANA, The Crimson Winter, 23 February 2026). The Guardian and Time, working with medical sources inside Iran, credibly place the figure above 30,000. Iran International, citing the IRGC's own internal intelligence report, puts it above 36,500. The orders came directly from Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei — to "shoot to kill and show no mercy" — and were executed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Basij.

The European Union and Ukraine have already designated the IRGC as a terrorist organisation. The Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, has publicly committed to proscribing it. That pledge must now be honoured — without further delay. Every month of inaction costs lives. Iranian protesters are still being executed by the regime, women and girls are still being jailed and beaten for their dress, and the IRGC continues to run intimidation, kidnap and assassination plots against journalists and dissidents on British soil. The threats against the Iran International newsroom forced a UK media organisation to relocate; the Metropolitan Police have publicly disclosed multiple IRGC-linked plots inside the UK.

I am asking you to:

  1. Press the Government, in public and in private, to proscribe the IRGC in full and without further delay — including the Quds Force, the Basij paramilitary, and the regime's networks operating in the UK.
  2. Demand a clear timetable from the Home Secretary and the Foreign Secretary for when proscription will be brought forward, and ask in the House.
  3. Give serious consideration to Britain standing alongside our American allies — including, where lawful and where requested, with British military support — to help the Iranian people free themselves from this terrorist regime. We are not asking you to take a position lightly; we are asking you to think about it carefully.
  4. Support stronger named sanctions against regime officials, judges, broadcasters and propagandists responsible for human rights abuses.
  5. Back safe routes for Iranians fleeing persecution — women, journalists, religious minorities and dual nationals.
  6. Speak out publicly in solidarity with the Iranian people's movement for Woman, Life, Freedom (Zan, Zendegi, Azadi).

This is not a foreign policy abstraction. It is a direct question of public safety in our own constituencies and of Britain keeping its word.

Many of us in Yorkshire — Iranians and British neighbours — gather every Sunday from 12pm to 2pm outside Sheffield City Hall. You would be very welcome to join us, or to meet at your constituency surgery.

Please reply and tell me plainly: will you publicly call for proscription of the IRGC, and what is your timetable for action?

Yours sincerely,
[Your name]
